The preservation and veneration of relics is an ancient tradition of the Orthodox Church. Types of relics include the bodies of the church fathers, their clothing, and other ancient “artifacts.” Relics are stored in churches and monasteries, often times on display for Christians to behold, in remembrance of the saint(s).
