Holy Unction, also known as Anointing of the Sick, is a sacramental rite of the Orthodox Church, in which a faithful Christian receives physical and spiritual healing, during his time of sickness. During this rite, the priest “pray[s] over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (James 5:14, KJV).
