Doctrine: Faith and Works

good-samaritan-coptic-icon

Not only must a Christian have the proper faith in God, but he must also cooperate with the grace of God given to him, by obeying His commandments. Jesus said to His disciples, "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love" (John 15:10, NKJV).

We are called Christians, because we constantly strive to be Christ-like! And so, by having faith and works, a Christian believes in Christ and lives as Christ lived.
